Hands uncoil
From winter’s dormancy
Heart vibrating
Eager fingers flexing
To Plunge
Beneath earth’s surface
Dirty fingernails
Soil covered knees
Gardening tools
Smiling she sighs
Her joy
Thanking Mother Nature
